Product release: Build policy in JSON, faster role search, and more room to build

This month’s updates to the access control center make it easier to capture, manage, and build policies, especially you’re exploring policy-as-code workflows. We also released a new batch of live MCP integrations across CRM, support, sales, project management, and observability. Let’s dig in!

View policy JSON and copy it in one click

You can now view any policy in raw JSON directly in the access control center and copy it to clipboard. For teams thinking ahead to policy-as-code workflows, including Terraform provider support (on the Barndoor roadmap), this gives you an easy way to capture the current state of any policy as a starting point.

From the menu on any policy, you can view a policy’s JSON and copy it to clipboard in one click without needing to go through network inspection, API calls, or manual extraction.

This matters most for teams thinking about policy-as-code. If you want to store your current policy configuration in version control, export it to share with another team, or simply audit exactly what’s being enforced at the gateway level, the JSON view gives you the source of truth on demand.

It’s also the foundation for what’s coming next: as Barndoor builds out Terraform provider support, you’ll be able to copy any policy’s JSON directly and drop it into your Terraform configuration, making it easier to manage your entire AI access policy layer as code alongside the rest of your infrastructure.

Search input for roles and groups

The roles and groups selector in the policy builder now includes a search input. For organizations with large IdP structures which could include hundreds of groups, nested roles, regional or department-specific attributes, scrolling through a flat list to find the right identity could be tedious. The search input lets you type and filter in real time, finding the right group or role instantly regardless of how large your IdP is.

Larger policy setup modal for more room to build

The modal for building policies has been resized to give you more working space. The larger modal makes it easier to build policies with multiple conditions, attribute-based restrictions, role-specific logic, and more.
